The 1938-D Jefferson Nickel is considered one of the key dates in the series. It has one of the lowest mintages with just over 5 million coins produced. Still a very neat coin considering that it is one of the key dates in the series.
Jefferson Nickels are not silver but consist mostly of copper with a balance of nickel that give them a “silver” appearance.
