Description
The 1938-S Jefferson Nickel is considered one of the key dates in the series. It has one of the lowest mintages with just over 4 million coins produced. Most examples will display some weak details on the obverse and reverse designs since they were struck from fairly worn dies. Still a very neat coin considering that it is one of the key dates in the series.
Jefferson Nickels are not silver but consist mostly of copper with a balance of nickel that give them a “silver” appearance.
